Requirements for Submission of Grant Requests:

All requests for KSBCF funding must be submitted through the grant application.

  • Application Deadline: Requests must be submitted by April 1 or October 1 for consideration.
  • You may submit a letter with additional information concerning your grant.
  • Grant applicants will be notified of approval/denial of funding.

Braille Writer Requests

Requirements for Submission of Braille Writer Requests:

All requests for braille writers must be submitted through the braille writer loan application and must include the supporting documentation listed below:

  • A current eye exam or verification of legally blind status
  • A letter of recommendation from a teacher, counselor or other professional (if in school)
  • A letter from your rehabilitation counselor (if you are a vocational rehab client)

Will Evans Scholarship

Will Evans Scholarship Eligibility Requirements:

To be eligible for consideration, the applicant must meet the Kentucky Office for the Blind criteria for educational or vocational services.

  • Application Deadline: Applications are due no later than April 1 of each year.
  • Applicant must be a current resident of Kentucky.
  • Recommendations are required from school personnel or from Kentucky Office for the Blind personnel (additional recommendations may be substituted from non-school personnel).
  • Scholarship funds are given to the post-secondary institution or paid for submitted education-related bills.
  • The scholarship recipient must write a progress report during the first semester and submit it to the Will Evans Scholarship Committee.
