The Cultural
Educational Enrichment Program (CEEP) was formed at the Kentucky
School for the Blind with strong support from the charitable foundation. CEEP
offers Kentucky high school students who are blind or visually
impaired an opportunity to explore cultural differences
and to travel abroad.
CEEP is designed to allow participants to visit schools for the
blind, attend classes, make friendships and to experience different
cultures. In addition to gaining knowledge about the world and
various cultures, student travelers learn organization and communication skills
as well as how to cooperate in group situations, meet deadlines
for applications, make travel arrangements, and prepare follow-up presentations.
Through this program,
students have visited: Exeter, England;
Dublin, Ireland; Nova Scotia, Canada; the Navajo Indian Reservation
in Arizona; and Washington, D.C.
The CEEP student program is made possible through the consistent
financial support of the Kentucky School for the Blind Charitable Foundation and its generous donors.
