Kentucky School for the Blind
Charitable Foundation
Since 1984, the Kentucky School for the Blind Charitable Foundation has set out to level the educational playing field for blind and visually impaired students through Kentucky. The goal of KSBCF is to ensure the Kentucky blind and visually impaired student population receive the same advantages in the classroom and community as their sighted peers.
We at KSBCF are working daily to make a difference for student in Kentucky who are Blind and Visually Impaired. It could be as simple as:
-
Providing a braille write to a budding poet
-
Connecting KY families to resources
-
Awarding scholarships to promising students
-
Funding grants to those who share our mission
We strive to make the future brighter for visually impaired students
and those lucky enough to work with them.

Welcome to KSBCF!

As a visually impaired individual the summer work program has benefited me in many ways, one being preparing me for the real world of working and getting a job. Another being preparing me to have to advocate for myself when it comes to my visual impairment.

At the end of July 2025, I was able to compete in the Para National Track and Field Championships in Eugene, Oregon! This was a once in a lifetime experience. I wouldnt have been able to participate had it not been for the generosity of KSBCF. I cannot put into words how grateful I am for the support this organization has shown me over the years. I am a proud bronze medalist in the 100m and 200m, and I cannot wait to see what I can do next!
