Dr. Franklin Jelsma “To See Through Love” Scholarships

Each year, two graduating seniors from the Kentucky School for the Blind are chosen by the faculty to be the recipients of Dr. Franklin Jelsma “To See Through Love” Scholarships. One award is given for outstanding academic achievement, and the other for outstanding achievement in community service, work ethic, and respect for others. Each recipient receives a plaque in recognition of this accomplishments as well as a $500 reward.

The award is in honor of Dr. Franklin Jelsma, a well-respected pioneer and mentor in the field of neurosurgery, who believed that by caring about others and working hard, one can make the world a better place.
